GFEST- Gaywise FESTival, recognised as London’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) and Queer cross art festival, has announced 2011 dates and festival programme Selection Panel names.
GFEST 2011 dates are 7 to 20 November
Majority of GFEST programme is selected by the experts panel, through open call for submissions on festival website: http://gaywisefestival.org.uk/
Deadline to receive the entry forms: 27 June 2011.
One of GFEST 2011 selectors CampbellX said,” GFEST is one of the few inclusive LGBT arts festivals. As a member of the selection panel, I am pleased to be chosen for my knowledge of LGBT films and the arts , not to make up an ethnic or minority quota.”
The names of GFEST 2011 Selection Panel: CampbellX, Chila Kumari Burman, Paul Burston, James Rocarols, Chiara Williams, Oliver Winchester and Niranjan Kamatkar.

CampbellX is an award-winning filmmaker and curator who has written, produced and directed Stud Life an urban queer feature film which is currently in post-production.
Chila Kumari Burman is accomplished international artist, who is promoted by British Council and whose critically acclaimed work challenges stereotypes around cultural identities. She celebrates politics of femininity in her artwork that has attracted major collectors such as Arts Council, BBC to V & A and Wellcome Trust.
Paul Burston is a critically-acclaimed author, award-winning journalist, Gay & Lesbian editor at Time Out and the host of gay literary salon Polari at the Southbank.
James Rocarols is the Content Producer of Film Network, the BBC’s online showcase for short film and British filmmaking.
Chiara Williams – Artist, Curator and Co-Director of WW Gallery, London. Forthcoming exhibitions include ‘Afternoon Tea’ at the 54th Venice Biennale, 2011.
Oliver Winchester is Assistant Curator of the V&A’s forthcoming exhibition Postmodernism: Style & Subversion 1970-1990 (opening September 2011) and is Head of the V&A LGBTQ Network. Oliver specialises in subcultural, queer and political visual culture.
Niranjan Kamatkar is a multimedia artist, filmmaker and artistic director of GFEST
