Last week, the human rights activist and campaigner Peter Tatchell sent a message of support to London’s LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) cross-art fest: GFEST – Gaywise FESTival.

In his message Mr Tatchell said, “At a time when arts funding is threatened by the government cuts, it is more important than ever to support GFEST. ”

Peter Tatchell is a well-known campaigner for LGBT and human rights across the world

The full message of support is posted on GFEST web : http://www.gaywisefestival.org.uk

The well-known campaigner speaks highly of many LGBTI artists and performers that GFEST showcases and thinks they are in the front-line of queer culture, articulating our identities, experiences, triumphs and tragedies.

Mr Tatchell urges LGBT/ glbt  and queer identified community members to go and attend the GFEST 2010 events. GFEST 2010 programme will be announced on GFEST web in early  September.  Last year British Airways mentioned GFEST as most significant annual occurrences in London’s eclectic LGBT calendar.
